This tumour was located at one end (epiphysis) of the thigh bone (femur). This cancer is most common in young adults, with more men affected than women. It is a rare cancer that is not very aggressive and so has a good prognosis. Treatment is with surgical removal of the tumour and surrounding tissue, often a limb needs to amputated.
